FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
PENN STATE STUDENT FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS 2010

Updated June 29, 2010

GENERAL SALE INFORMATION/STUDENT TICKET POLICIES

Q. ARE ALL STUDENTS GUARANTEED TICKETS?

A. No. As established in 2008, only students who properly pre-register can participate in the annual season ticket sale. Once again this year, following the completion of the May pre-registration process, the demand for student tickets will likely exceed the supply. As a result, all students can not be accommodated in purchasing student season football tickets via the first-come, first-served online sale June 21 - 25, 2010.

Q. WHY WAS FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED CHOSEN AS THE ONLINE SALES METHOD?

A. The desired outcome of the ticketing process for both the students and the administration is to assure that the allocation process provides Penn State students a fair opportunity to participate. While there are alternative methods of selling student season tickets, such as lottery or weighted system, the Penn State students have spoken clearly that they prefer the first-come, first served method. As such, Penn State Athletics has responded with the current online system.

Q. HOW MANY GAMES ARE INCLUDED IN THE FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET?

A. There are 7 home games for the 2010 Nittany Lion Football season. All student tickets sold are on a seasonal basis and each student manages his or her individual game ticket online via www.GoPSUsports.com/studentcentral. The complete 2010 schedule and established game times are also available on GoPSUsports.

Q. HOW DO I PAY FOR MY TICKETS?

A. The online sale process requires a valid credit card at the time of purchase. Tickets will be charged to the account immediately upon a successful purchase, so students who are not sure that they want to purchase tickets should not. Credit cards that are not valid or cannot absorb the charge at the time of purchase will not be accepted and the student will not be issued a ticket. Only US issued credit cards are valid for the sale.

Q. WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION OF MY TICKET PURCHASE?

A. Yes. A successful ticket purchase will result in the issuance of a confirmation/order number at the conclusion of the online transaction. It is recommended that you print this page for your records.

Q. HOW IS A STUDENT'S CLASS DESIGNATION DETERMINED FOR THE STUDENT FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET SALE?

A. Class status is established by the University and is directly tied into each student's completed and recorded credits as of May 14, 2010. The guidelines governing class status can be found by reviewing the following: http://www.registrar.psu.edu/registration/semester_classification.cfm

Q. HOW DO I UPGRADE MY CLASS DESIGNATION IF I ACHIEVE THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF CREDITS?

A. There are no upgrades prior to the sale. Students successful in purchasing tickets will have the opportunity to request a change in their class designation until August 20 at 5:00 PM by contacting Penn State Athletics Customer Relations Center at 1-800-NITTANY (1-800-648-8269). This request can only be honored for students whose class status changes after May 14 as a result of the addition of earned credits. These credits must also be reflected on the official university records in order for Athletic Ticketing Services to adjust class designation. All requests will be reviewed by Athletic Ticketing Services through August 25 at 5:00 PM. All requesting students will be notified via e-mail of the final outcome. CLASS UPGRADES ARE NOT AUTOMATIC. The guidelines governing class status can be found by reviewing the following: http://www.registrar.psu.edu/registration/semester_classification.cfm

Q. IS THERE ADA-ACCESSIBLE SEATING AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS?

A. Yes. Please contact Lisa Clark at 814-863-1000 or the Athletics Customer Relations Center at 1-800-NITTANY in advance to make special arrangements for the season.

A. Available single game tickets can be purchased online beginning July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets. Please note that the number of tickets available will vary by game.

Q. WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING POLICIES/PROCEDURES FOR FOOTBALL?

A. Yes, online only. In addition to the instructions and information currently posted for the sale, all final student policies and procedures for 2010 will be posted on "Student Central" prior to August 10, 2010. Please read it completely, as this information will contain instructions for entering Gate A at Beaver Stadium on game day. There are no plans to send any additional communications directly to students. Q. HOW CAN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE STUDENT NITTANY LION CLUB?

A. For just $25 a year, you can earn valuable SNLC points while supporting your fellow students who wear the Nittany Lion uniform for one of our 29 varsity athletic teams. Q. IS THERE A METHOD TO PURCHASE STUDENT TICKETS IF I AM NOT SUCCESSFUL IN PURCHASING STUDENT SEASON TICKETS?

A. Yes. Students will be able to use Penn State Student Ticket Exchange beginning August 11, 2010. Penn State Student Ticket Exchange allows students with season tickets to sell or forward individual game tickets. Full-time or part-time Penn State students, who do not already have tickets, may purchase and receive forwarded tickets through the Penn State Student Ticket Exchange. Full information on how to execute these transactions will be spelled out on Student Central. IMPORTANT NOTE: You will notice that each ticket posted for sale holds the class designation of the seller. Upon purchase, this designation is replaced with YOUR class status. You may feel comfortable purchasing tickets from the entire Exchange inventory and not be concerned about the original class designation of the ticket.

Q. HOW DO I SELL OR FORWARD STUDENT TICKETS TO ANOTHER PENN STATE STUDENT?

A. This will be done entirely online. Each student will manage his/her online ticket account and have the ability to forward or sell a student ticket to another Penn State student on a single game basis by using the Penn State Student Ticket Exchange. Tickets may not be sold as a season package - only individual games. A maximum of four (4) games may be sold or forwarded in any combination. Students are permitted one transaction per game. All details and instruction for this procedure will be posted on "Student Central" no later than August 6, 2010.

Q. AT WHAT PRICE CAN I RESELL MY STUDENT TICKETS?

A. By using the Penn State Student Ticket Exchange, students may post their tickets for sale between $20 and $60. All associated fees (15% of the purchase price plus $1.95) will be paid by the buyer. The resale procedure for student tickets will be posted on Student Central no later than August 6, 2010.

Q. CAN A NON-PSU STUDENT ATTEND A GAME WITH ME?

A. Yes. The "Guest Ticketing" process will remain unchanged from the 2009 football season. "Guest Tickets" are drawn from the available inventory on the Penn State Student Ticket Exchange. Students must purchase the guest ticket in person, if available; at The Bryce Jordan Center ticket office the week of the home game, Wed - Fri, 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At that time, students will also pay the $29 upcharge to bring their guest. There will be no guest tickets available for the Penn State versus Michigan game on October 30. All information for guest ticketing will be posted on "Student Central" no later than August 6, 2010.

Q. HOW WILL ADVANCED GROUP SEATING FOR STUDENTS BE ADDRESSED?

A. The advanced group seating process will be similar to the 2009 season. Using online account manager, students will be able to block tickets in groups of a minimum of 10. Each group must have a group leader and the group leader will list the students eligible to join the group. Only Penn State students with valid student ID # and a game ticket will be eligible to attend football games as part of a student block. Guests of Penn State students are not eligible to join a group. All information for advanced group seating will be posted on Student Central no later than August 6, 2010.
