University Park, Pa., Nov. 13, 2004 ¨C The Lady Lions wrapped up the Penn State Fall Classic with impressive performances. The team, which won all of their singles and doubles matches, faced opponents Bowling Green and Akron.
In today¡¯s singles action, senior Jessica McKeown (Toronto, Ontario) defeated Laura Hemlepp of Akron 6-0, 6-0, while freshman Jenny Schular (Peachtree City, Georgia) won against Stephanie Miles of Akron 6-2, 6-0.
Seniors Maaria Husain (Marion, Ohio) and Sarah Spence (Calgary, Alberta) went up against Schoenberger and Romer of Bowling Green in doubles play and beat them 8-4. The doubles team of sophomores Sasha Abraham (Hyderabad, India) and Katelyn BeVard (McLean, Virginia) continue to win as they defeated Jakupcin/Nussbaum of Bowling Green and Brenkus/Price of Akron.
With this tournament, the women¡¯s tennis team wraps up their Fall 2004 schedule. They will resume play in January.
