UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State women's tennis team was set to leave this Thursday for an event in the Bahamas, however due to Hurricane Irma and the intended path of Hurricane Jose the tournament has been cancelled. The rescheduling of the tournament is pending.

"With the uncertainty of Hurricane Jose and the path that it will take later this week, the collaborative decision was made to cancel this weekend's USTA Invitational in the Bahamas. We are unsure at this point if the tournament will be rescheduled for this fall." said head coach Chris Cagle. "I appreciate the help of our Athletic Department and other Penn State staff as well as the Tournament Staff in the Bahamas to make this tournament possible and we will update on gopsusports.com when we have additional information."

The Nittany Lion's fall season opener will now be next weekend at the Penn Invitational hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
