UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.-- The Penn State women’s tennis team is taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers, in its first away match in five games. The Nittany Lions will play the Panthers at the Oxford Athletic Club, on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:00 a.m.
The team is 4-2, its best start since going 6-0 in the 2012-2013 season. Additionally, the team is coming off of a 5-2 win against Marshall, that snapped a two game losing streak.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are also 4-2 on the season. The Panthers are 0-1 in ACC play.
“We expect a battle when we play Pitt on Sunday,” said head coach Chris Cagle. “We expect their best shot and we expect to be ready and give them our best shot as well. We are getting better and I look forward to seeing how we respond being on the road in a highly competitive situation. It should be a great match and a great test for us.”
Looking ahead, the Lions will open Big Ten play with a home match against No. 19 Ohio State on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 5:00 p.m.
