Ines Milosevic (Burlington, Ontario), Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Md.) and Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.) all had singles matches on day two. Milosevic is the No. 14 seed in singles and picked up a win against Marija Venta of Longwood University 7-5, 7-5. Hanley fell to Clara Tanielian of William and Mary 6-2, 6-0. Smith fell to Lottie Meszaros of Radford 0-6, 6-3, 6-3.

They then fell to the No. 1 seeded doubles pair of Kelley/Johanson of UVA 8-4. Milosevic and Gabby O’Gorman (Gunnedah, N.S. Wales, Australia) fell to Anderson/Bongart of Liberty 8-3.

“We were right at .500 for today with a few matches that could have gone our way. It was nice to see Ines (Milosevic) break through in singles and Freddie (Svarre) and Hanna (Wikberg) have been playing good doubles,” said head coach Chris Cagle. “Tomorrow will be the last day of the tournament for everyone except Ines (Milosevic). I expect us to compete and play at a high level tomorrow.”

Bennett Dunn (Orlando, Fla.), Hanley, O’Gorman and Svarre all competed in extra matches today outside of the main draw. Dunn/Hanley defeated Peterson/Makarova of JMU 6-4. O’Gorman defeated Knezevic of Pittsburgh 6-3, 4-1 with Knezevic retiring due to injury. Svarre lost to Resende of Pittsburgh 6-4, 6-4.

Play continues tomorrow for the Nittany Lions at the ITA Regionals.
