Four Women's Tennis Players Tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes
The Penn State women's tennis team had four players selected as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes and the entire team was tabbed ITA All-Academic Team. Seniors Katelyn BeVard (McLean, Va.) and Jenny Shular (Peachtree City, Ga.), junior Dorothy Dohanics (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore Julia Raezer (Narbeth, Pa.) each garnered ITA academic honors for having a 3.50 grade point average (GPA) or better. Evan Clark Hired as Women's Tennis Assistant Coach
Penn State women's tennis coach Dawna Prevette announced the hiring of Evan Clark as the assistant coach for the program today. Clark joins the Nittany Lion women's tennis squad after nearly a year as the program manager for junior competition and junior development at the United State Tennis Association's (USTA) Missouri Valley Section. The Big Ten Women's Tennis Championship will be held at Purdue April 24-27, 2008. The 2008 tournament features all 11 Big Ten teams in action, competing in 10 matches over four days to crown the 2008 champion and earn the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
