Women's Tennis Wraps Up Play in First Day at Rice Invitational

The Nittany Lions will continue play in the double-elimination tournament tomorrow

2011 FALL: Earned a singles victory at the Rice Invitational versus LSU's Hayley Everett, 6-2, 6-0 ... Edged Drexel's Alex Bell and Nicole Pivonka, 8-5, at the Cissie Leary Invitation with her partner, Kristen Roth.

2010-11 SEASON - JUNIOR: Tallied three singles wins ... Upset No. 7 Riki Tatsuno of Michigan, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (13-11) ... Bested Bucknell's Dara Dwojewski, 6-1, 6-0 ... Defeated Laurie Navarro of California, Pa., 6-0, 6-7 (7-9), 1-0, (10-7).

2010 FALL: Earned a 4-3 doubles record with several different partners, including three straight wins to end the season at the WMU Super Challenge ... Won five singles matches and three at the Hokie Fall Invitational.

2009-10 SEASON - SOPHOMORE: Went 7-24, including three straight wins against Bucknell, Lehigh and Akron... Won seven doubles matches including two against ranked opponents... including a win over No. 45 Marshall with partner Petra Januskova over Isabell Raich and Kara Kucin, 8-4 ... Defeated No. 26 Illinois with Michaela Stracar against Breanne Smutko and Chrintine Stromberg ... Was named to the Academic All-Big Ten roster.

2008-09 SEASON - FRESHMAN: Was 10-20 during her first year with the Nittany Lions ... Edged Jackie Sperling of then-No. 64 Minnesota in an exciting 4-6, 6-4, 10- 4 victory ... Opened spring play with back-to-back No. 3 doubles victories with partner Dorothy Dohanics, defeating Dara Dwojewski and Ashley Globerman of Bucknell, 8-3, and Laura Villegas and Andrea De La Torre of Montana State, 8-3.

JUNIOR CAREER: Played on Ukrainian under-18 National Tennis Team ... Placed third in doubles at 18 and older Nationals ... Fourth place in singles at under-18 summer nationals ... Quarterfinalist in singles and doubles on under-18 winter nationals
