Record-Breaking Academic and Athletic Year Continues for Penn State Student-Athletes
Concludes regular season winning five of the eight completed matches
Januskova and Utting knock off nation's No. 3 duo and Nittany Lions win two in singles play
Third time receiving this honor, first time this season

2012-13 SEASON - SENIOR: Finished her senior season with 27 singles victories, second-most in Penn State single season history, a record in which she holds the top three spots ... Ended her collegiate career with 92 singles victories, second-most in Penn State history trailing only Olga Novikova's 95 ... Totaled 19 doubles victories, 17 of which came with Chelsea Utting ... Advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships with partner Chelsea Utting becoming only the third Nittany Lions duo to do so and the first since the 1997-1998 season when Allison Barnet and Pilar Montgomery accomplished the feat ... Finished her career with 62 doubles victories tied for most in program history with Novikova ... Named to All-Big Ten First Team for the third consecutive season ... Received the Ernest B. McCoy Award given to one female and male athlete at Penn State each year who have combined successful athletic participation with academic excellence ... Recipient of Penn State's Big Ten Medal of Honor, the conference's most prestigious award given to one male and female graduating student-athlete who "attained the greatest proficiency in athletics and scholastic work" ... Named to Academic All-Big Ten and ITA All-Academic team her senior season ... Ranked as high as No. 27 in the ITA Singles Poll and No. 21 with Chelsea Utting in the ITA Doubles Poll ... Named ITA Atlantic Region Senior of the Year ... Named Big Ten Athlete of the Week during the week of April 17, 2013 ... Defeated No. 107 Yasmine Alkema of Winthrop 6-2, 6-4 ... Defeated the No. 8 ranked player in the Atlantic Region, Dominika Zaprazna, of Marshall 6-4, 6-1 ... Defeated No. 46 Kelsey Dieters of No. 55 Ohio State 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 ... Defeated the No. 15 regionally ranked Leslie Hureau of No. 38 Indiana 6-7, 7-4, 7-6 (7-5) to give the Nittany Lions a 4-3 victory ... Defeated No. 85 Ruth Seaborne of No. 69 Iowa 6-1, 6-0 ... 2012 FALL: Entered the fall ranked No. 52 in the ITA singles poll and No. 42 with Chelsea Utting in the doubles poll ... Totaled 11 singles wins ... Had streaks of four and six wins ... Won the singles tournament at the ITA Atlantic Regionals ... Defeated the regional No. 3 seed Stephanie Nauta 6-0, 6-1 at the ITA Atlantic Regionals ... Defeated No. 20 Aeriel Ellis of No. 10 Texas 6-2, 6-4 at the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships ... Competed in two matches at the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships after winning ITA Atlantic Regional ... Tallied five doubles victories, three with Chelsea Utting and two with Devan McCluskey ... Defeated No. 45 Stephen F. Austin's Natalie Yoo and Kateryna Bugayenko 8-4 and No. 22 Texas Tech's Sofya Malysheva and No. 105 Rashmi Teltumbde 8-4 with McCluskey at the Racquet Club of Midland Collegiate Invitational ... 2011-12 SEASON - JUNIOR: Compiled a 17-6 singles record ... Earned wins over two ranked opponents; No. 14 Diana Nakic of No. 6 Baylor and No. 111 Kim Berghaus of UMBC ... Eight of her singles victories came over opponents on ranked teams... Started the season on a 12-match singles win streak, in which she only lost one set the entire streak ... Was an unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten first team, the second year in a row she was given such distinction ... Voted Big Ten Athlete of the Week during the week of Jan. 10 ... Was ranked in the ITA singles poll for the entire season, peaking at No. 43 ... Tallied a 14-9 doubles record ... Went 12-5 when she partnered with Chelsea Utting ... Teamed with Utting to defeat No. 40 Stefanie Weinstein and Madeleine Geibert, 8-7, of No. 18 Nebraska ... Ranked No. 84 during the week of April 10 with Utting.
2011 FALL: Entered the season ranked No. 108 in ITA Preseason Poll ... Tallied a 20-5 combined singles and doubles record ... Finished 13-2 in singles matches ... Only two singles losses came to ranked opponents, No. 36 Emily Fraser of Virginia and No. 100 Jackie Wuu of Vanderbilt ... Earned the singles crown and a second-place finish at the Cissie Leary Invitational, going an undefeated 5-0 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles action with partner Nina Sertic ... Named Big Ten Athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 28th, becoming the first Nittany Lion to earn the honor since Sasha Abraham in April 2007 ... Represented the Nittany Lions in the ITA All-American Tournament ... Won the singles title at the WMU Super Challenge for the second year in a row, going 3-0 in her matches ... Earned a 7-3 doubles record with her partner Nina Sertic ... Defeated No. 48 Li Xi and Maria Fuccillo of Virginia, 8-4 at the ITA Regional Tournament.
2010-11 SEASON - SOPHOMORE: Tallied a 25-18 record, finishing 14-7 and 11-11 in singles and doubles play, respectively ... Named to the first team All-Big Ten team, the first Nittany Lion to earn that honor since Maaria Husain in the 2004-05 season ... Started the season No. 81 in the Preseason ITA rankings, the first Penn State player to accomplish the feat since 1989 ... Ranked as high as No. 59 in singles and No. 68 in doubles in ITA Polls ... Went on three different steaks of winning three matches in a row ... Defeated five different ranked singles opponents ... Beat Prang Pantusart, who went 21-2 the previous season as Akron's No. 1 player ... Topped No. 117 Nina Vulovich of No. 23 VCU, 6-3, 7-6 (5) ... Breezed by No. 92 Rachael White of Illinois, 6-3, 6-0 ... Bested No. 70 Michigan State's Amy Barton, 6-2, 6-1, who was ranked No. 121 ... Edged Minnesota's No. 74 Natalia Pintusava, 7-6 (6-4), 6-3 ... Defeated No. 68 Purdue's Jennifer Rabot, who was ranked No. 54, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) ... Compiled both a three match and four match doubles winning streak with three different partners ... Bested No. 9 Rachael White and Allison Falkin of Illinois, 8-6 with her partner Amy Simidian ...Beat Olga Chernova and Katarina Lingl, 8-5, of No. 70 Michigan State.
2010 FALL: Earned a 13-3 record to start her sophomore campaign ... Finished runner-up at the ITA Atlantic Regional as she defeated the tournament's No. 2 seed Erin Vierra ... Named the singles and doubles champion at the WMU Super Challenge with partner Fernanda Perrotta as she went undefeated for the tournament.
2009-10 SEASON - FRESHMAN: Named the ITA Atlantic Region Rookie Player of the Year ... Ranked No. 81 in ITA preseason rankings for the first time since 1989 ... Went 8-7 in her first season as a Nittany Lion ... Was as high as No. 66 in the ITA singles ... Won matches against three ranked teams and two ranked opponents ... Defeated No. 42 Michaela Kissell of Marshall, 6-4, 6-2 ... Followed that performance by beating 27th-ranked Pichittra ð"ongdash of Boise State, 6-0, 7-5 ... Continued solid play by beating Ana Bara, of No. 29 Virginia Commonwealth 6-1, 6-0... Also won seven doubles matches, including an 8-4 victory over No. 45 Marshall with partner Maria Prishlyak ... Ranked No. 8 in the Atlantic Region in the spring.
JUNIOR CAREER: Canadian standout who has finished in the Top 5 in both doubles and singles every year since 2004, peaking at No 2 in both doubles and singles in 2005 ... Has won three national titles in doubles ... Represented Canada in the U14 World Junior Qualifiers in Mexico ... Has also been a member of the Canadian contingent in tournaments in Europe and the United States.
