UNIVERSITY PARK , Pa. - Head Coach John Hargis has announced the addition of nine standout recruits who will begin competing for the Penn State women's swimming & diving program starting with the 2012-2013 season.
Aly Ackman, Jenna Bickel, Casey Fazio, Kaitlin Jones, Allie Pennetti, Olivia Ross, Kylie Reiter, Katie Rowe and Haley Sinatro will all join the Nittany Lions next fall. An accomplished group of swimmers, the eight have all pieced together outstanding resumes during their respective careers.
"The class as a whole is a really great class and really deep class," said Penn State head coach John Hargis. "It provides some much needed depth we've needed. We are losing some really good ladies. We definitely needed some breaststrokers and backstrokers. With this class we were looking for almost everything."
Along with Hargis, the entire swimming staff at Penn State worked tirelessly to put together a recruiting class that looks to serve as a cornerstone of the Nittany Lion program in the coming years.
"Liz McMillan, my recruiting coordinator has done a remarkable job," said Hargis. "She is a go-getter and a coach that develops a remarkable relationship with the student athletes and their coaches back home. She is one of the true reasons why we've had some of the immediate successes we've had. What her and other assistants have brought is phenomenal. This staff is willing to put in the work and time. "
