Lion Women Finish 19th at the 2006 NCAA Women¡¯s Swimming and Diving Championships

ATHENS, Ga.; March. 18, 2006 ¨C The Penn State women¡¯s swimming and diving team finished 19th with a total 55 points at the 2006 NCAA Women¡¯s Swimming and Diving Championships. Auburn raced to victory with 518.5 points.

Junior Nikki Collins (Carmel, Ind.) finished sixth in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:13.35, scoring 13 points for the Lion women.

Junior Erin Morris (Ft. Wayne, Ind.) took 14th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.92.

Freshmen Kelly Nelson (West Chester, Pa.) and Karie Haglund (Marietta, Ga.) finished 12th and 15th in the 200 butterfly with times of 1:59.03 and 1:59.91, respectively.

The University of Georgia hosted the 2006 NCAA Championships, which took place March 16-18 in Athens, Ga. at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
