ATHENS, Ga.; March. 16, 2006 ?C The 14th-ranked Penn State women??s swimming and diving team began competition tonight at the 25th annual NCAA Women??s Swimming and Diving Championships. The 400 medley relay team scored the only points of the night for the Lion women. Penn State is in 25th place after the first night of competition.
The 400 medley relay team placed 13th with a time of 3:40.18, scoring eight points for the Lion women. Seniors Amberle Biedermann (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Sarah Haupt (Carlisle, Pa.) , sophomore Molly Crispell (Boalsburg, Pa.) and freshman Abby Hoisington (Leawood, Kan.) shined for Penn State.
The University of Georgia is hosting the 2006 NCAA Championships, which take place March 16-18 in Athens, Ga. at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
