Penn State Women's Swimming & Diving Seeks Second Consecutive Big Ten Championship
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ¨C February 18, 2003 ¨C The Penn State women¡¯s swimming and diving ream will be looking to capture its second consecutive conference crown when it travels to Purdue University this week to compete in the Big Ten Championships.
Coach Bill Dorenkott¡¯s team has earned a 6-2 record and is ranked No. 14 by the CSCAA. Penn State enters the Championships as the highest ranked Big Ten team in the latest CSCAA coaches¡¯ poll. Penn State was 2-0 in Big Ten dual meet competition this year, defeating Indiana and Michigan State. Penn State also returns two members of last year¡¯s two time Big Ten champion 200 Medley Relay Jennifer Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Deirdre Dlugonski (Washington, Pa.). The meet is set to begin on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m., with sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Live results will be available on www.GOPSUsports.com throughout the competition.
