2009-10 (JUNIOR YEAR): Media Guide Bio
Season bests in the 1650 freestyle (22nd, 17:01.19), 100 butterfly (19th, 55.44, preliminary) and 200 butterfly (13th, 2:01.09, preliminary) came at the Big Ten Championships (2/17-20) ... Impressed as part of Lions' win over nationally-ranked Ohio State (1/29-30), finishing second in the 100 butterfly (56.28), fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:03.85) and 200 medley relay (1:48.97), fifth in the 1000 freestyle (10:19.81) and sixth in the 200 (1:39.00) and 400 (3:34.93) freestyle relays ... Pittsburgh Quad Meet (1/15-16) was highlighted by season-high in 400 medley relay (fourth, 3:52.51). Also placed fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.35), fifth in the 100 butterfly (57.09) and eighth in the 500 freestyle (5:06.42) ... Busy at the Ohio State Invitational (12/4-6), finishing 11th in the 1650 freestyle (17:16.33), 100 butterfly (56.85, preliminary), 200 butterfly (2:04.13, preliminary) and 800 freestyle relay (7:41.61), 12th in the 400 medley relay (3:53.62), 15th in the 200 medley relay (1:47.65) and 27th in the 500 freestyle (5:03.32, preliminary) ... Was second in the 100 butterfly (57.27), third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.23), fourth in the 200 medley relay (1:46.55), fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:06.33) and 400 medley relay (3:53.18) and ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:06.41) in the home opener against Virginia (11/20-21) ... Impressed in four events at Virginia Tech (10/31), coming in third in the 100 butterfly (57.77), 200 butterfly (2:06.61) and 400 freestyle relay (3:32.37) and fifth in the 1,000 freestyle (10:27.19) ... First action of season came against Colgate/West Virginia (10/24), placing second in the 200 butterfly (2:03.13) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:54.22).
2008-09 (SOPHOMORE YEAR): Outstanding sophomore campaign included one first-place finish, seven second-place finishes and four third-place finishes ... Season best times in the 500 freestyle (4:57.98, preliminary), 100 butterfly (55.40, preliminary) and 200 butterfly (2:00.76) came at the Big Ten Championships ... Placed second in the 100 butterfly (57.18), fourth in the 400 medley relay (3:51.80) and fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:02.88) and 200 freestyle relay (1:38.84) against Ohio State. The freestyle relay time was a season best ... Was second in both the 200 butterfly (2:04.67) and 200 medley relay (1:46.97) while also competing in the 100 butterfly (57.64) against Rutgers ... Success against Villanova/Pittsburgh/Maryland included sixth-place in the 500 freestyle (5:07.23) and 100 butterfly (57.87), third in the 200 butterfly (2:04.74) and fourth in the 200 medley relay (1:47.08) ... Strong showing at the Ohio State Invitational, led by season-best time in the 400 medley relay (3:49.62, eighth overall) along with 22nd in the 500 freestyle (5:01.80), fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:02.32), ninth in the 800 freestyle relay (7:36.66) and 10th in the 200 medley relay (1:45.73) ... Against Virginia/Florida State, posted a season-best time in the 200 medley relay (1:44.62) which was also second overall. Also finished eighth in the 100 butterfly (57.52) and sixth in the 400 medley relay (3:54.25) ... Placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 medley relay (1:47.34), 100 butterfly (56.44) and 200 freestyle relay (1:40.24) at Southern Methodist ... Only race at Texas A&M a day earlier was the 200 butterfly (2:03.20), good for a third overall finish ... In first home meet of season against Richmond, won the 400 medley relay (3:50.93), was second in the 200 butterfly (2:04.99) and third in the 500 freestyle ... Opened season at West Virginia with two second-place finishes, in the 200 butterfly (2:04.87) and 200 medley relay (1:48.14).
2007-08 (FRESHMAN YEAR): Swam mid-distance freestyle events as well as the butterfly ... Participated in several relay events throughout the season too ... Placed 17th in the 200 butterfly at the Big Ten Championships ... Cracked the Top 20 in the conference in the 100 butterfly. Also competed in the 500 freestyle, finishing 47th ... Swam to second once and took third nine times on the season ... Earned third in the 100 and 200 butterflies in first collegiate meet against West Virginia ... Earned fourth in the 200 butterfly against Purdue/Virginia/Michigan State ... Cracked the Top 10 in the 200 butterfly at Hoosierland ... Posted fastest times of the season in the 100 and 200 butterfly at Princeton, taking fourth and third, respectively ... Came in third in the 1000 freestyle against West Chester.
HIGH SCHOOL: Swam for four years at Carmel High School in Carmel, Ind., the same high school as former Nittany Lion All-America swimmer and school record holder Nikki Collins ... Served as a team captain senior year ... Was a three-time state champion as a part of the 400 freestyle relay team ... Team won state championships all four years ... Won the 2007 Girls Carmel High School Mental Attitude Award.
