2007-08: Colby mostly swam freestyle sprints for the Nittany Lions in her first year. Occasionally, she took part in freestyle relays. She earned her fastest times in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events at the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Colby swam the fourth fastest time on the team in the 50 free. Overall, she had one second-place, one fourth-place finish and three fifth-place marks. Meet-by-Meet Results: Came in fifth in the 50 and 100 free against Rutgers....Season-best, second-place finish against Florida-Gulf Coast....Posted her fastest 200 freestyle relay and most impressive finish at the Princeton Invitational, earning fourth place....Ninth place in the 200 free relay at the Hoosierland Open Invite....Came in ninth place in the 400 freestyle relay against Michigan State, Purdue and Virginia

High School: Earned four varsity letters in swimming at Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel, Pa. and was a team captain for two years....Also participated in lacrosse.

Personal: Colby was born on December 21, 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pa....She is the daughter of Robert and Jacquelyn Capretto....Has an older sister, Courtney (22)....Her father played football at Penn State from 1964-1968....Majoring in business....Favorite team is the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Why I Chose Penn State: "I chose Penn State for the academics and how great the people are on the swimming team. Since the first time I walked on campus, I wanted to be a part of the Penn State community."
