UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State softball is returning Sept. 17 with the first of two Fall tournaments at Nittany Lion Softball Park's Beard Field. The Nittany Lions will host three teams in September with another tournament in October featuring four visiting squads.

Bucknell, Delaware and Lock Haven will join Penn State Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 17-18 at Beard Field for seven games. PSU and Bucknell kick off the action on Sept. 17 at 10:45 a.m. before Delaware and Lock Haven meet. Penn State and UD face off at 3:15 p.m. prior to the Bucknell-Lock Haven matchup concludes the first day's action.

On Sunday, Sept. 18, the LHU and the Bison meet for a 9:30 a.m. showdown before Penn State plays Bucknell and Lock Haven at 11:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.

The Nittany Lions host another tournament two weekends later on Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 1-2. Indiana of Pennsylvania, Saint Francis (Pa.), Cleveland State and Colgate participate in the first three clashes running from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to Penn State taking on CSU and Colgate at 4:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.

Sunday, Oct. 2's action opens with Colgate and Cleveland State at 9:30 a.m. before SFU-Colgate (11:45 a.m.) and CSU-IUP (2:00 p.m.). Penn State tackles IUP (4:15 p.m.) and Saint Francis (6:30 p.m.) to close out the off-season exhibitions.

The tournaments will be the first Fall tournaments at the new Nittany Lion Softball Park. The $10.2 million facility hosted over 17 postseason games between the NCAA and PIAA Tournaments in Spring 2011.
