Q&A with Meghan Wolfer

Follow PSU Softball:

GoPSUsports.com recently caught up with outfielder Meghan Wolfer and this is what the Northampton, Pa., native had to say:

Q: How did you first get involved in softball?
A: My parent signed me up for t-ball when I was little and ever since I¡¯ve been in love with the game.

Q: For how many years have you been playing?
A: I have been playing for about 11 years

Q: Why did you choose to play for Penn State?
A: I chose to play for Penn State because I love the atmosphere. After my visit I knew Penn State was where I wanted to be.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you have had to overcome both on and off the field?
A: The hardest part for me was adjusting to college life in general, but mostly learning how to manage my time efficiently.

What are your plans after graduation?
A: After graduation I plan to attend grad school and work towards my masters after that I hope to find a job coaching somewhere.

Q: What is the most important thing you have learned during competition that can be used in other areas of your life?
A: I have learned to believe in myself and not to hold on to things that have happened in the past. You just have to forget about what happened and be ready for what is coming next.

Q: What has been your greatest achievement? A: My greatest achievement has been being part of a division I sport and earning a starting spot on the roster.

Q: Do you have any role models, and why do you look up to these individuals?
A: My role models are my parents. They have done so much for me throughout the years and without them I would not be where I am today. No matter how busy they were they always found time to take me to practice and attend all my games. Without their support I would not have been able to achieve my dream of playing college softball.

Q: What are some of the things that you want to accomplish before your college career is over?
A: As a player I just want to be able to do whatever I can for my team and when I am needed to step up be able to do so. I hope to win a big ten championship before my time here at Penn State is over but if we don¡¯t it won¡¯t matter as long as I know we tried our very hardest to do so and had fun with it at the same time.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: For fun I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing volleyball and basketball along with snowboarding.

Q: Between school and playing a sport how do you find time for yourself, and how do you balance all the activities? A: It takes a little while to get used to but after a few weeks I learned there is a time for everything and once I got my priorities straight I found a lot more free time for myself after completing all of my school work and finishing practice.
