STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 1, 2002 - The Penn State softball team (14-15) opens the home schedule Wednesday, April 3 against St. Francis (Pa.) at 6 p.m. at Nittany Lion Field. The Nittany Lions will then host a pair of Big Ten squads this weekend.

The Nittany Lions are coming off their Big Ten opener this past weekend. Penn State began the weekend with an upset over the No. 13 Michigan Wolverines, 1-0, before dropping game two, 3-0. The Lions then split a doubleheader at Michigan State on Sunday, March 31.

Penn State is 25-10 all-time in home openers, winning its first game of the home season in each of the last six years.

At the end of the week, the Lions jump back into Big Ten action hosting No. 24 Minnesota on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. PSU then hosts Wisconsin in a doubleheader on Sunday, April 7.
