Head Coach Robin Petrini
Q: Why did you decide to go with Jackie [Hill] at pitcher today?
A: She was so effective yesterday except for that one inning. She was effective again today but they got to her again in that one inning and put some hits together. It happens.
Q: What adjustments did you make in the batter's box today?
A: We made a lot of adjustments. We had much fewer strikeouts and put the ball in play a lot more. I thought we competed a lot better today.
Q: How did you guys fight [Indiana pitcher Morgan Melloh's] dropball and fastball today?
A: We did a couple different things, but basically you either have to move up in the box and attack it or move back in the box and let it be called a ball.
Q: Are you happy with the solid contact the team was making today?
A: We had good at-bats today. That was something we talked about is that we needed to have better at-bats and I think we did that.
Q: Talk about the pitchers' duel today.
A: Well [Morgan Melloh] is really good, Jackie [Hill] is really good, and unfortunately they were able to put a couple hits together on Jackie. It started with that hit-by-pitch, and yesterday it started with a walk. If we can avoid those things maybe we have a different outcome.
Q: Any positives you can take out of this weekend?
A: I thought we played much better today. We don't have a lot of time to hang our heads. We have some big games coming up this week and we have to win them.
