Sara Haefeli enters her first season as the volunteer assistant coach for the Penn State softball program after being hired in the summer of 2017.

Haefeli spent two seasons coaching high school and club softball following her graduation from Seton Hall University. At Seton Hall, Haefeli was a four-year letter winner on the softball team where she holds the school record for single game home runs with three. Haefeli closed out her career with a .305 batting average, a .604 slugging percentage and ranks second in Seton Hall single season laurels with 13 home runs in the 2015 campaign, while also ranking second in the Big East Conference in the 2015 season.

She finished her career ranking second in career doubles and touted a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield in the 2014 season. Haefeli etched her name in the Seton Hall record books in multiple offensive and defensive categories in her four year career as an outfielder and was on the Big East Weekly Honor Roll multiple times.

Haefeli graduated from Seton Hall University in 2015 with a dual bachelor’s degree from the Stillman School of Business in marketing and sport management, while earning a minor in English.
