Penn State - Notes

• This is Penn State's first 20-win season since 2005

• Friday's win extended gave Penn State a perfect 9-0-0 record at Jeffrey Field

• Goalkeeper Erin McNulty started in her 24th match, 14 of which ended in a shut out

• Penn State won the first meeting between the two teams

• This was the first time Penn State was held to a single goal in back-to-back games in 2011

• Junior Christine Nairn had a career high of 10 shots.

• Junior Christine Nairn became the eighth Nittany Lion to take 10 or more shots and she is the first to attempt 10+ since Katie Schoepfer took 12 on 11/18/07 vs. Hofstra in the NCAA Second Round

• Army took the first two shots of the game and Penn State took the next 26 shots in the span of 75 minutes.

• Penn State improved to 8-2-0 at Jeffrey Field in the NCAA First Round with a 25-6-0 all-time record at home in the NCAA Tournament. PSU will move to the NCAA Second Round for the second straight year.

• Nairn's goal was her first game-winner of 2011; she has six in her career.

Army - Notes

• Army's 2nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

• The Black Knights are now 0-2-0 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

• Goalkeeper Monica Lee had a season high of 11 saves.

• Army gave up a goal for the first time since a 3-2 loss to Navy on Oct. 21 in Annapolis, a span of four-plus games.
