Dececco, O'Hara named All-Americans by the IWLCA

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., July 18, 2001 -- Junior Alison DeCecco (Newtown Square, Pa.) and sophomore Colleen O'Hara (Ardmore, Pa.) were among the list of athletes receiving All-America honors, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced recently.

DeCecco was named second team All-American by the IWLCA, adding this honor to her list of collegiate accolades. She was also recently named a third team 360Lacrosse.com All-American, IWLCA first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region and honorable mention All-American by the United States Lacrosse Foundation. A starter in every game this season, DeCecco was second on the team in groundballs with 30 and third in caused turnovers at 11. She also registered 18 goals.

O'Hara, who started every game for the Nittany Lion attack, received third team All-America honors from the IWLCA. She also recently was named first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region. O'Hara led the team in scoring (52) and assists (19), and was second on the squad with 33 goals.

Penn State was 8-10 on the season and made a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Lions lost to Dartmouth, 9-7, in the first round.
