Penn State Women's Lacrosse Team Named an Academic Squad for 2003

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., June 17, 2003 - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach's Association (IWLCA) has named its acadmic honor roll and academic squads for the 2002-2003 school year. The Lions were honored as an academic squad, which means its team GPA is above 3.0. In addition, senior Katie Pace (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and junior Stephanie Curnoles (Baltimore, Md.) were listed on the academic honor roll. The academic honor roll is made up of juniors and seniors who have a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Pace, a senior elementary and kindergarten education major, started all but one game this season, and in addition to five assists, she picked up 24 ground balls and caused ten turnovers on the season.

Curnoles, also an elementary and kindergarten education major, started every game of her junior season. She had four goals and six assists and picked up 40 ground balls. She also was second on the team in draw controls with 27 and caused ten turnovers on the season. She has 24 total points in her career at Penn State.
