STATE COLLEGE, Pa., May 24, 2001 - Alison DeCecco (Newtown, Pa.) was the only representative on the all-America team, as she was selected honorable mention all-America which was announced by the US Lacrosse Foundation.

DeCecco helped the Nittany Lions to an NCAA Tournament bid after a one-year absence by Penn State to the postseason tournament. A junior midfielder, she notched 18 goals on the season, was second on the team in ground balls with 30 and third in caused turnovers with 11. DeCecco was also a starter in every game this season.

Dececco earns the honor after being named first team Mid-Atlantic All-Region earlier in the month.

Penn State was 8-10 on the season and made a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Lions lost to Dartmouth, 9-7, in the first round.
