Women's Lacrosse Hosts Georgetown Saturday In Home Finale
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 27, 2000 -- The No. 15 Penn State women's lacrosse team plays its final home game of the 2000 campaign this Saturday when it hosts fourth-ranked Georgetown at 12:00 p.m. at Jeffrey Field.
Four Nittany Lion seniors will be honored prior to the start of the contest. Co-captains Courtney Jenkins (Fallston, Md.) and Jenn Webb (Shaker Heights, Ohio), along with classmates Christine Kenney (Huntington, N.Y.) and Julie Tice (Arnold, Md.) will be playing their final game at Jeffrey Field. The seniors lead the squad in virtually all statistical categories. Jenkins leads the team in caused turnovers and Webb is first in goals, points and groundballs. Tice paces the squad in assists and Kenney is the team leader in draw controls. The Lions , who have played the fifth-toughest schedule in the nation according to the laxpower.com power ratings, come into the game with a 7-9 record. All nine of Penn State's losses have come against higher-ranked opponents. The Hoyas enter Saturday's matchup with a 10-3 record.
