Women's Lacrosse to Honor Seniors Saturday

State College, Pa.- The Penn State women's lacrosse team will be honoring its two seniors on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. as the team faces Ohio State in their final home game of the season. Seniors Megan Ames (Alexandria, Va.) and Heidi Rothfuss (Penfield, N.Y.) will be playing in their final regular season home games for the Nittany Lions.

A second team regional All-American last season, co-captain Ames has started every game this season in the goal, making 164 saves. Her second season, Ames was the No. 2 sophomore goalkeeper in the nation in goals-against-average. During her career at Penn State, she has played in 59 games, making 598 saves.

In her four years as a Nittany Lion, Rothfuss has not been able to make her mark in games due to injuries, but instead is one of the team's leaders off the field. Her knowledge of the game and her teaching abilities have made her invaluable to the Penn State women's lacrosse program. Rothfuss has been able to overcome her injuries and return to the field this season.

In addition to Senior Day, Saturday will be Family Day at Jeffrey Field. Both Penn State lacrosse teams will be in action for a double header. The women take on Ohio State at 12:00 p.m., and the men's squad faces Fairfield at 2:30 p.m. In honor of Family Day, mascots from local businesses will be in attendance and there will be give-aways, including 200 ice cream cones from Ben & Jerry's and 100 Brine mini-lacrosse sticks.

Immediately following the games, both the men's and women's teams will hold autograph sessions. The autograph sessions will be held at the pavilion across University Drive from Jeffrey Field.
