No. 15 Women's Lacrosse to Close Out Regular Season at No. 13 Johns Hopkins
Live stats and instant scoring updates for the Penn State-Johns Hopkins match-up will be available over the Internet through GameTracker. Find a link on the official website of Nittany Lion athletics, www.GoPSUsports.com. When Penn State takes to the field on Friday evening, it will be seeking redemption for last weekend's last-second loss to conference foe Ohio State. Senior Lindsay Dutch (Ellicott City, Md.), playing in her final regular season game at Jeffrey Field, along with sophomore Kerry Shea (Baltimore, Md.), led the Lions with a team-high three points. Junior Linsey Shea (Baltimore, Md.) also netted a career-high two goals in the game. If the Nittany Lions are to regain their winning ways, history is most definitely on their side. In Penn State's five all-time meetings with Johns Hopkins, it is a perfect 5-0. In the 2006 season finale, the Lions knocked off the Blue Jays, 15-14, at Jeffrey Field, helping Penn State cap off the year with a three-game winning streak. Johns Hopkins, like Penn State, has had a strong 2007 season against one of the nation's most difficult schedules. The Blue Jays have claimed key victories over top 20 teams Oregon, Denver, and Virginia while all six of their losses have come to ranked opponents. While Johns Hopkins has had its ups and downs this season, the one constant has been the offensive prowess of Mary Key. The senior tops the team with 52 goals and 42 assists and leads the nation in points per game with a 6.71 average. The Nittany Lions will return to Baltimore and the campus of Johns Hopkins University next week to take part in the inaugural American Lacrosse Conference Tournament from Thurs.-Sun, May 3-6. The top three finishers in the league regular season standings will receive byes while the bottom two will meet in a first round contest on the first day of the tournament. Seeding for all five teams, byes, and the first round match-up will be determined after regular season play is concluded on Friday.
