Tortorelli Named American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 16, 2003 - Penn State women's lacrosse goalkeeper Lee Tortorelli (Havertown, Pa.) earned American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week honors for her 19-save performance against Johns Hopkins last weekend. The sophomore faced 30 shots, allowing only four goals.

Tortorelli has started every game this season, playing all 720 minutes. She has allowed 114 goals, has made 142 saves and has a goals against average of 9.50. She also leads the team in ground balls with 34.

Tenth-ranked Penn State (6-6, 3-0 ALC) travels to Northwestern on Saturday to face the Wildcats in a noon contest at Lakeside Field. The Nittany Lions return home on Friday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. to host Ohio.
