Women's Lacrosse Game Versus Bucknell Postponed

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; March 2, 2006 - Tenth-ranked Penn State's intrastate road battle with Bucknell, originally scheduled for 4:00 p.m. today, has been postponed due to weather concerns. The game has been rescheduled for Tues., March 7 at 4:00 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa.

Head coach Suzanne Isidor's pursuit of win No. 50 at Penn State and career victory No. 100 will need to wait until Sun., March 5 at 1:00 p.m. when Colgate visits Holuba Hall for the Nittany Lions' 2006 home opener.

The Nittany Lions are off to a 1-0 start to the season after defeating American Lacrosse Conference rival and 15th-ranked Vanderbilt, 9-8, on Feb. 25 in Nashville, Tenn. Highly-touted freshman Kerry Shea (Baltimore, Md.) supplied the game-winning score, netting her first collegiate goal with 31 seconds remaining.

Next week, after traveling to Bucknell on Tuesday, Penn State embarks on a three-game homestand by first hosting ACC power No. 7 Virginia on Fri., March 10 at 5:00 p.m. and William & Mary on Sun., March 12 at 12:00 p.m. The Lions' stretch of home games ends on Sat., March 18 with a 2:00 p.m. match-up with No. 3 Princeton.
