Tortorelli Named To Tewaaraton ¡°Watch List¡±

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Feb. 26, 2004 - Junior women¡¯s lacrosse goalkeeper Lee Tortorelli (Havertown, Pa.) has been tabbed as one of 25 women on this season¡¯s Tewaaraton Watch List. The preseason list highlights the players to watch as all NCAA Division I, II and III players vie for the Tewaaraton Trophy, presented to the top male and female varsity lacrosse player.

Tortorelli was tabbed as a second team IWLCA All-America selection last season in addition to picking up second team All-ALC honors. She played all 1,020 minutes of the 2003 season and broke her own record for saves in a season with 199. She racked up a save percentage of .571 and notched at least six saves in all 17 games of the season. She recorded nine contests of 10 or more saves, including a season-high 20 saves at Virginia on March 17.

The Penn State women¡¯s lacrosse team opens up its 2004 season on Feb. 29 at Vanderbilt with its first home contest scheduled for Saturday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. versus Davidson.
