Penn State concludes season in the NCAA National Semifinals for the second-consecutive season
Penn State battles No. 1 overall seed Maryland in the NCAA Semifinals on Friday evening
No. 4 seeded Penn State defeated fifth-seeded Princeton, 14-12, to earn its second-consecutive NCAA Semifinal berth and the 11th in program history.
The Nittany Lions advance to their third consecutive NCAA Quarterfinal and the eighth in program history
For the second consecutive year the second-seeded Penn State Nittany Lions were defeated by third-seeded Northwestern in the Big Ten semifinals
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2017
Started two of her 19 games played on attack during her freshman campaign … registered 18 goals and 12 assists for 30 points … scored her first collegiate goal during an 18-9 victory over Lehigh (Feb. 18) … netted her first career hat trick while adding an assist for four points during a 19-9 win at Duquesne (Feb. 22) … scored one while adding a career-high three assists during a 15-6 victory at Drexel (Mar. 29) … scored twice and added an assist during a 17-10 win at Michigan (Apr. 30) … collected two goals and two assists during the Big Ten Tournament semifinals against Northwestern (May 5) … registered a hat trick with one assist in the NCAA Second Round against JMU (May 14) … turned in a career-high five points and four goals in a 14-12 victory over Princeton in the NCAA Quarterfinals (May 21) … scored once and added an assist against Maryland in the NCAA Semifinals (May 26).
BEFORE PENN STATE
2016 graduate of North Harford High School … four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team … Second-Team All-County as a sophomore … back-to-back First-Team All-County recognition as a junior and a senior as well as First-Team All-Conference … US Lacrosse First-team All-American as a junior … two-time Team MVP as a junior and senior … two-time Crab Draw All-Star game MVP in 2015 and 2016 … Under Armour All-America Underclass Champions in 2015 … scored 87 goals as a senior with 20 caused turnovers and 68 draw controls to pace the team in each category … National Honor Society member … two-time Lacrosse Academic All-American … Most Outstanding Female Athlete of her high school graduating class … also played for NEMS Lacrosse for six years.
Maria Theresa Auth was born September 21, 1998 to Rose and Michael Auth in Harford County, Maryland … has an older sister Gina … anticipated major is Bio Behavioral Health.
