Appeared in two games off the bench in 2017 securing a single draw control in a road win against Northwestern (Apr. 13).
BEFORE PENN STATE
2015 graduate of Unionville High School … four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team … served as Team Captain during her senior campaign … led her team to the District Playoffs all four seasons … was a two-time First Team All-Ches-Mont and a two-year Philly National Tournament Team member.
Katelyn Marie Garvey was born November 8, 1996 to Carey and Jay Garvey in Reading Pa. … the oldest of four, she has a younger brother Kyle and two younger sisters Erin and Shannon … the most recent of a long list of Penn Staters, Katie’s aunt Cheryl Bump played on the women’s lacrosse team from 1994-98 while her two uncles Nate Bump ’98 and Lee Root ’95 were members of the baseball and swimming teams, respectively … Her father Jay was also a collegiate football player at Shippensburg University while her mother Carey played Lacrosse at Lafayette … Katie’s younger sister Erin is already committed to play lacrosse at Michigan beginning in the fall of 2018.
