UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; March 22, 2007 ?C Coming off its best score since the 2001 season, the 13th-ranked Penn State women??s gymnastics team returns home to host its final regular-season meet against New Hampshire, Rutgers and Yale on Saturday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Rec Hall. The meet will also be Senior Night for the Nittany Lions, honoring Ashley Mehrer (Midlothian, Va.), Amie Olaes (Inverness, Ill.), Corissa Pirkl (West Islip, N.Y.) and Stephanie Sullivan (Gaithersburg, Md.).
Tickets for the quad meet are $5 for adults, $3 for youth and $2 each for groups of 10 or more. Penn State students are free with their university ID.
Fans will receive Cheer Cards and will also have the chance to win prizes from Damon??s with the ??Damon??s Lucky Program?? contest. Also running throughout the season will be the ??Big Ten Ticket Trivia Contest,?? where fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the 2007 Big Ten Women??s Gymnastics Championships, hosted by Penn State next Saturday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m. at Rec Hall.
Penn State will open Saturday??s meet on vault and follow Olympic order, competing on bars, beam and floor in consecutive order. New Hampshire will begin on bars and move to beam before rounding out on floor and vault. Rutgers will start on beam and continue on to floor, vault and bars while Yale begins on floor and closes out on vault, bars and beam.
