PENN STATE HEADS TO ANN ARBOR, MICH., FOR BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS: Penn State will begin postseason competition this weekend as it travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the 2001 Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m.

The Nittany Lions placed second overall at the 2000 Big Ten Championships and had one individual conference champion as Nikki Smith captured the balance beam title with a perfect ten.

LAST TIME OUT: Penn State closed out the regular season last weekend with a second-place showing at the Penn State Quadrangular which featured No. 3 Alabama, Rutgers and Cornell. The Lions posted a score of 196.650, its fourth-highest total of the season, as it finished behind the Crimson Tide who totaled a 197.525.
