UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; November 29, 2006 - Penn State women¡¯s golf team will see three new faces in the 2007- 2008 season. Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Austrailia), Dineen Notman (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) will join the Nittany Lions as freshmen next fall.

Malcolmson boasts achievements that far exceed the golf course. Highlights of her golf career thus far include winning 24 individual tournament titles and being honored as the 2006 New South Wales State Combined Catholic Colleges Champion. In addition, Molcolmson has been involved in many other sports and activities including soccer, dance, and musical productions.

Notman will be another member of the 2007-2008 women¡¯s golf team. As the 2005 winner of the Central New York Westfield Junior PGA Championship and the New York State Golf Association Junior First Flight Winner in both 2003 and 2005, Notman will no doubt be an asset to the team. Along with her golf career, Notman spends time volunteering as a church alter server as well as assisting to coach a local basketball team.

Fanelli has shown her golf skills in several tournaments, earning first place in the Palm Beach County JGA (2005), the South Florida PGA at PGA Village (2005), and the FCWT at Doral (2006), among several other top finishes. The Palm Beach, Fla. native was also named Player of the Year for PBCJGA in 2004 and 2005.

The three additions to the 2007-2008 Nittany Lions demonstrate an incredible amount of talent and promise for the future Penn State women¡¯s golf team.
