Nittany Lions in Eighth Place After First Round of the Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C.; October 27, 2006
¨C The Nittany Lions had an impressive performance in the first round of the Landfall Tradition. Currently in eighth place, the Nittany Lions have a team score of 28-over 316. They are only one stroke behind seventh place South Florida.

Michigan, with a score of 12-over 300, is in first place. Virginia, in second place, trails by only one stroke.

Junior Megan Padua (LaFayette, Calif.) shot one-over 73 and is in fourth place. She is only one stroke behind Jenny Arseneault (Virginia), Brianna Broderick (Michigan), and Dana Je (Ohio State), who shot par and are tied in first place. Padua shot one-under par on the front nine and had a total of five birdies for the round.

Junior Christin Pacacha (Williamsport, Pa.) also had a remarkable round. Pacacha shot four-over 76 and had three birdies. Also participating for the Nittany Lion team were Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ont.), Sara Lester (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.).

The second round of the Landfall Tradition will be tomorrow, October 28 Course with tee times starting at 8:15 a.m.
