Penn State heads to UNLV for Last Tournament of the Fall

Las Vegas, NV. Oct. 19, 2012- The Penn State women's golf team is heading to the 11th Annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown for the last tournament of the fall season. The tournament is being held at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club, which is a par-72 course that plays 6,230 yards. The tournament begins on Sunday, Oct. 21 and continues through Tuesday, Oct.23. The tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the first two days of the tournament with a 10:45 a.m. shotgun start on the last day.

The playing field consists of 17 teams, which include: UNLV, Colorado State, Fresno State, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, New Mexico State, North Texas, San Diego State, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Penn State.

Juniors Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) and Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) look to lead the Nittany Lions to their third straight tournament win. Senior Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) looks to carry her great golf played in the Mercedes Benz Tournament last weekend where she finished in a tie for seventh place into this weekend.
