Incoming Golfer Named NEC Women's co-Golfer of the Year

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Incoming Penn State women's golf transfer Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio), has earned 2014 Northeast Conference Co-Golfer of the Year honors, as selected by the NEC conference head coaches.

Morell, who recently completed her sophomore year at Robert Morris, split the award with Fairleigh Dickinson senior Mariana Juaristi.

While competing for the Colonials, Morell held the lowest average round in the conference at 78.0. In addition to seven top-10 finishes throughout the season, Morell highlighted the year with a first-place finish at the RMU Colonial Classic and a second-place finish at the NEC Championships, with a three-round score of 223 (73, 75, 75). After posting a two-day score of 156 at the RMU Colonial Classic, she garnered conference recognition, being named the NEC Golfer of the Week, April 16.
