Women's Golf Finishes The Lady Buckeye in 10th Place
Columbus, Ohio - With a final score of 112-over 976, the Nittany Lions finished the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in 10th place. The team shot 327 for the third and final round of the tournament.
Senior Maggie Lester finished the tournament with a three-round score of 26-over 242. Finishing in a tied 34th place, Lester was the top finisher on the Penn State team. Freshman Katherine Murphy finished the competition only five strokes behind Lester. After Murphy shot 83 in both the first and second rounds, she improved by two shots in the third round, giving her a round score of nine-over 81.
Purdue finished the tournament in first place with a three-round score of 27-over 891. Michigan State finished in second place, 20 strokes behind Purdue. Maria Hernandez of Purdue finished in first place with a score of one-under 215.
The Nittany Lions will next compete in the Big Ten Tournament on April 27- 29.
