Nittany Lions Finish 10th at Lady Buckeye Classic
COLUMBUS, OHIO (APRIL 18, 2005) - Junior Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) fired a three-round total of 229 to finish 16th in leading the Penn State women's golf team to a 10th place finish with 321-315-326-962 at the Lady Buckeye this past weekend at the par-72, 6,201-yard layout at the Scarlet Course on the campus of Ohio State University. Weinerth shot a 77-74-78 to finish as the Nittany Lions' top golfer. Michigan State won the event (293-295-304-892), Ohio State was second (299-309-288-896), Iowa took third (309-298-301-908), Kent State was fourth (310-296-303-909) and Purdue finished fifth (310-299-305-914). Sophomore Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ontario) took 50th for Penn State with 79-78-85-242, sophomore Betsy Houseman (Chattanooga, Tenn.) was 60th with 85-81-79-245, sophomore Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.) finished 62nd with 79-87-80-246, freshman Christin Pacacha (Williamsport, Pa.) was 74th with 86-81-84-251, and freshman Emily Pavesich (Glen Arm, Md.) took 82nd with 88-82-84-254.
