Women¡¯s Golf Wins Lady Dukes Invitational By 17 Strokes

State College, Pa. ¨C The Penn State women¡¯s golf team won the Lady Dukes Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va. The Nittany Lions shot a total team score 611 to win the their first team title of the 2002 spring season. Second place James Madison was 17 strokes back with a score of 628.

Katie Futcher (Woodlands, Texas) won her second individual title of the spring season. Futcher shot two rounds of 74 for a total score of 148 (+4). She finished two strokes in front of Sarah Seo and Kanas Gooden.

Keri Dugan (Erie, Pa.) also had a fine showing for Penn State finishing tied for fourth with a score of 152 (+8). Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.) also placed in the top ten with a eighth place finish. Skilton shot a two round total of 153.

Other finishers for Penn State included Meghan Mull (Naperville, Ill.), who placed 14th with a score of 158, while Jennifer Elsea (Columbus, Ohio) finished tied for 25th with a total of 163.
