Penn State Women¡¯s Golf places eleventh at Lady Boilermaker Invitational
West Lafayette, Ind., April 13, 2003 ¨C The Penn State Women¡¯s Golf team placed eleventh at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue University, which was held at the Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Coach Denise St. Pierre¡¯s Nittany Lions shot a 950 with an eleventh place finish. The University of Tennessee took home the team title with a 904, as Purdue (905), Illinois (921), Kent State (921), Nebraska (937), Michigan State (937), NC State (938), Michigan (940), Wisconsin (940), Iowa (943) round out the top 10.
Senior Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) led the way for Penn State with a tie for eleventh place carding a final score of 228. Freshman Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) followed with a tie for 44th shooting a 241. Freshman Katrin Wolfe (Johnstown, Pa.) tied for 50th with a final score of 243. Seniors Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.) and Meghan Mull (Naperville, Ill.) carded a final score of 250 tying for 61st. Freshman Keri Dugan (Erie, Pa.) shot a 252 tying for 65th place.
The Penn State Women¡¯s Golf team will be back in action on Friday, April 25 at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa
