Lady Golfers Sit in Eighth Place After First Day of Lady Dukes Invite
HARRISONBURG, Va. (Apr. 9, 2005) - Junior Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) and sophomore Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.) both sit in the Top 25 and are pacing the Penn State women's golf team as they sit in eighth place with 320-316-636 after two rounds at the JMU Lady Dukes Invitational. Sophomore Betsy Houseman (Chattanooga, Tenn.) is in a tie for 18th place as she is leading the Nittany Lion "B" team, which finished the first day in 10th place with 323-322-645. Tournament host James Madison is currently in first place with 304-301-605, and Princeton is second with 306-300-606. The third and final round will get started at 8 a.m. Sunday. Weinerth will start the final round with a 79-77-156, good for 16th place, and Lester is in a tie for 24th with 80-78-158. Sophomore Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ontario) is in 28th with 80-79-159, and senior Lauren Lundy (Wayne, Pa.) and junior Nicole Love (Greensburg, Pa.) are in 51st place with 81-83-164 and 82-82-164, respectively. Following Houseman on the Penn State "B" team are sophomore Tina Kocinski (Mequon, Wisc.), freshman Christin Pacacha (Williamsport, Pa.), freshman Emily Pavesich (Glen Arm, Md.) and sophomore Courtney Gagnon (Naperville, Ill.). Kocinski is in 43rd with 84-78-162, Pacacha is 47th with 79-84-163, Pavesich is in 55th with 80-85-165, and Gagnon is 76th with 89-83-172.
