Women's Golf Finishes Bryan Park Tourney in 14th
BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C.-The Penn State women's golf team finished the Bryan Park National Collegiate Tournament in 14th place. They shot a 306 on the day and finished with a 928 total. Duke University won its second Bryan National Collegiate title with a record-setting 856 total. They led after each round of the tournament and held on to amass a 23 stroke victory. In second was Wake Forest with an 879 and in third was Oklahoma State with a 885. The top two individual honors went to Candy Hannemann and V. Nirapathpongporn of Duke, who were in that position after Saturday and held on to finish Sunday shooting a 68 (-4) and 71(-1), respectively, on the day to finish with a 209(-7) and 212(-4) total for the tournament. Young-A Yang of Tennessee finished in third with a 214(-2) total. Wake Forest's Marta Prieto, 215 (-1), and Nuria Clau, 216 (E), clinched the fourth and fifth spot. Penn State sophomore Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) finished atop the Lady Lions with a 73 on the day and a 223(+7) total, to tie for 20th. Sophomore Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.) tied for 46th with a 231(+15) and the other three Lady Lions all tied for 65th. Next Penn State will travel to the Big Ten Championships at The University of Minnesota, to be held Friday through Sunday, April 27-29. FINAL TEAM STANDINGS: PENN STATE SCORES:
