Women’s Golf Finishes 15th at Bryan National Collegiate

Katie Futcher places 6th overall

– Penn State women’s golfer Katie Futcher (Woodlands, Texas) tied for 6th place at the prestigious Bryan National Collegiate. Futcher shot three round total of 219 (+3) and her final 18-hole score of 70 tied for the best final round of the tournament.

Penn State placed 15th out of 17 teams with a final score of 935. The Nittany Lions improved their 18-hole score everyday, shooting rounds of 315, 311 and 309.

Meghan Mull (Naperville, Ill.) also turned in a notable performance. Mull placed 42nd overall with a final score of 230 (+14).

#2 Duke won the invitational with a score of 870, which was 12 strokes better than second place Georgia. Duke’s Virada Nirapathpongporn won the individual title with 54-hole score of 211 (+5).
