Women's Golf In 12th at Bryan Park After Day Two
BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C.- The Penn State women's golf team is now in 12th place at the Bryan Park National Collegiate, with a 622 total after two days and 36 holes. They shot a team score of 309 on Saturday. Duke University held its top position, shooting one stroke better than Friday, with a 288 on the day. Duke has a 577 total and the two top players in the tournament. Behind Duke is Wake Forest in second with a 587 total, and Oklahoma State in third with a 591. Candy Hannemann and V. Nirapathpongporn of Duke both shot a 69 (-3) on Saturday to give them each a 141 total and the lead. Marta Prieto of Wake Forest is next in third, shooting a 68 (-4) on the day to give her a 144 total. Penn State sophomore Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) still leads the Lady Lions. She shot two strokes better than Friday with a 74 (+2) on the day and a 150 total, and remains tied for 17th place. Following Futcher for the Lady Lions, sophomore Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.) is tied for 41st with a 155 total and a 75 (+3) on the day. The Bryan Park National Collegiate Women's Golf Tournament concludes with the final 18 holes on Sunday, April 8, teeing-off at 8:30 am. FINAL TEAM STANDINGS: PENN STATE SCORES:
