Women's Golf in 10th at Bryan Park After First Round At Bryant Park National Collegiate
BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C.- After 18 holes on Friday, the Penn State women's golf team stands in 10th place at the Bryan Park National Collegiate. Duke University leads the pack of 17 teams with a 289 on the day, on the par 72 course. They are followed by Oklahoma State and Wake Forest, who are tied for second with a 294. Penn State shot a 313 on Friday, 24 strokes back from the team leader. Linda Wessberg of Oklahoma State shot a three-under-par 69 to give her the top individual spot. Shooting a 71(-1) and tied for second are Kalen Anderson of Duke, Jessica Fought of UNC Greensboro and Kacy Thompson of South Carolina. Penn State sophomore Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) leads the Lady Lions. She shot a 76(+4) and is tied for 17th place. Senior Jamie McClain (Coshocton, Ohio) is the next highest ranking Lady Lion, tied for 34th, shooting a 78 (+6) on the day. The Bryan Park National Collegiate Women's Golf Tournament continues through Sunday, April 8. Rounds on both Saturday and Sunday will tee off at 8:30 am. FINAL TEAM STANDINGS: PENN STATE SCORES:
