Penn State Women¡¯s Golf places third at Waterlefe Invitational

Bradenton, Fla., March 18, 2003 ¨C The Penn State Women¡¯s Golf team placed third at the Waterlefe Invitational hosted by the University of South Florida, which was held at the Waterlefe Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.

Texas Christian took home the team title with an 898 as South Florida (907), Penn State (912), Louisville (918), East Carolina (922), Mississippi (922), Campbell (932), Georgia State (937), Miami (939), and Southern Mississippi (939) round out the top 10.

Senior Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) led the way for Penn State with a tie for fifth place shooting a final score of 221. Three Nittany Lions tied for 23rd carding a 232: Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.), Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.), and Katrin Wolfe (Johnstown, Pa.).

The Penn State women¡¯s golf team returns to action on April 12-13 at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
