Nittany Lions in 12th Place after Second Round of Longhorn Invitational
AUSTIN, Texas; March 17, 2007 - With a team score of 638, the Nittany Lions are in a tied 12th place after the second round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational hosted by Texas.
Sara Lester (Walnut Creek, Calif.) shot ten-over 82 and is currently tied in 28th place. Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ont.) improved her first round score to also tie in 28 th place. They lead the Nittany Lions with two-round totals of 157.
Texas holds its first place spot from the first round with a total score of 607. Arkansas, TCU, and Purdue are all tied in second place with two-round scores of 615. Kelley Louth of Texas remains in first place individually with a two-round score of four-under 140.
Several of the Nittany Lions improved their scores to help the team in the second round. Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) improved by three shots and Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) improved by four shots. Megan Padua (Lafayette, Calif.), Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.), Christin Pacacha (Williamsport, Pa.), and Emily Pavasich (Glen Arm, Md.) also participated in the tournament.
The third and final round of the tournament will be held Sunday, March 18 with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
