Penn State Women¡¯s Golf Wins Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational

Orlando, Fla., March 11, 2003 ¨C The Penn State Women¡¯s Golf team won the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins College, which was held at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Orlando, Florida.

The Nittany Lions took home the team title with a 607 as Memphis (608), Rollins (615), James Madison (623), Illinois State (627), Southern Illinois (629), Minnesota (630), Notre Dame (631), Florida Southern (641), and William & Mary (642) round out the top 10.

Seniors Katie Futcher (The Woodlands, Texas) and Cynthia Skilton (Paoli, Pa.) led the way for the Nittany Lions with a tie for second place with a final score of 148. Freshman Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) carded a 152, while senior Keri Dugan (Erie, Pa) shot a 155.

The Penn State women¡¯s golf team returns to action on Monday, March 17 at the Waterlefe Invitational in Tampa, Florida.
