WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (Mar. 9, 2004) The Penn State women¡¯s golf team fired a third-round total of 312 to finish fifth at the 14-team field Peggy Kirk Bell Classic with a three-round total of 954 at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, Fla.

Miami won the event by five strokes with a score of 910, Rollins College was second with 915, James Madison took third with 922 and UNC-Greensboro was fourth with 949.

Freshman Katrin Wolfe (Johnstown, Pa.) led the way for the Nittany Lions after shooting a three round total of 78-79-80-237, which was good for 19th place. Sophomore Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) was 20th with 82-77-79-238, freshman Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ontario) took 24th with 83-80-77-240 and freshman Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.) was 30th with 83-82-78-243. Junior captain Lauren Lundy finished 35th with a score of 81-85-78-244.

Penn State will not be in action again until it plays in the James Madison Invitational Apr. 9-11 in Harrisonburg, Va.
